I love that in the game, the human Inquisitor can gain Solas’s respect - it’s very satisfying to see Solas regard them (someone he didn’t even see as a person at first) as one of his closest friends. She is of a wholly different race and one he does originally not have a lot of respect for.

But with someone like Trevelyan, he does not have that common ground.

She is an elf-and while she is not immortal, she is still physically something that Solas has been ingrained to regard as a person. It’s obviously easier for Solas to see Lavellan as a person. I interpret Solas as having a preference for elves because they are what he is familiar with. I’m actually coming at this from the other side I’m an avid Solas/Non-Canon shipper and it’s for the reasons you mentioned, the whole “seeing beyond the ears” bit.

I’m going to stick my nose in here for a minute - feel free to ignore me if you like. :D da4 dragon age 4 solas trespasser dlc dragon age inquisition headcanon musings patrick weekes solasromance ohsoang I’d rather just be pleasantly surprised.Īdd your own ideas about where you think the story could possibly go. Of course there’s characters and stuff I’d want to see again, but getting my hopes up is just a recipe for disappointment. So unless it’s a sure thing that your protagonist in DA4 is successful in thwarting Solas, there needs to be somewhere for the story to go.įor my own sanity, I’m not getting too excited over any particulars about the next game. Whether you’re sent back there with some time travel magic and play as your protagonist from the future, or if it could happen in later games and your protagonist is just one of those ancient elves navigating this crazy world of magic.īioware certainly can’t just end the world entirely unless they’re ending the Dragon Age franchise. Maybe I’ve been reading too much of Looking Glass AU fanfic, but imagine getting to play the game in ancient Elvhanen. Which is why he’s so fascinating.Īs much as I would try to stop Solas from going through with his plan…that could make for an interesting outcome if Solas is successful. Solas is defined by his nuance and incredibly “gray area” character. But I hope Bioware doesn’t give Solas the same shoddy treatment they gave Anders and just paint him as a villain. Even with Weekes at the helm, you just never know how it could go. But you just never know when it’s a big company and a team of writers behind something. I feel like with Patrick Weekes as lead writer, there’s a good chance that Solas will be written well.
